Dune Group

Daniel is the Chairman of the Dune Group which he founded in 1992.

The Dune Group is a footwear and accessories brand based in London with over 200 stores worldwide and multiple channels of distribution.

Daniel is the fourth generation of his family in the footwear industry, his grandfather arrived from Russia at the end of the 19th century and opened his factory in 1920’s.

Daniel graduated from Kent University in 1969 with a BA Hons in Accounting. He joined the accounting firm Touche Ross (now part of Deloitte) where he qualified as an FCA.

In 1973 he joined the bankers, London and Continental Bank as a corporate finance executive and in 1974 became Finance Director of Goodman Price, an engineering and demolition company.

In 1976 he joined his father’s women’s fashion footwear manufacturing company, Jack Rose Shoes Limited. After his father’s death he bought 50% share in London Lane Shoes, another London based women’s fashion footwear manufacturer, where he remained as a director for 10 years.

In 1986 he started Browning Enterprises, a designer and importer of fashion footwear from the Far East and Europe which supplied the main High Street retailers. It imported over 10m pairs a year and grew to a turnover of £60m.

In 1992 Daniel founded Dune which has won the Drapers Multiple Footwear Award four times.

In 2014 Daniel was awarded the Drapers Lifetime Achievement Award.

In 2022 Daniel was made Doctor of the University of Kent for his work in business and contribution to the university.
